Carrington Pearl CufflinksLaurel Wreath And Pearl |
Elegant platinum laurel wreathes frame luminous
mother-of-pearl and pearl centers. An alluring example of
the simple, classic elegance of Carrington cufflinks.
Crafted in 14kt gold and platinum, circa 1920.
The 14kt gold backs of these cufflinks are as finely crafted as the fronts. Note the distinctive Carrington cross bars and sturdy, beveled-ended brackets that secure these cufflinks on the cuff.
The maker's mark of Carrington & Company, a squared "C" enclosing the gold purity mark ("14"), is stamped on the reverse of the cufflinks. On the opposite side of the brackets the precious metals - gold and platinum - are indicated with the mark "GOLD&PLAT."
During the first half of the 20th century Carrington was one of the preeminent makers of fine cufflinks and gentlemen's accessories. The firm worked with the finest materials, impeccable craftsmanship and elegant designs to create beautiful cufflinks that were sold by Tiffany & Co. and other carriage-trade jewelers of the day.
