Diamond Jazz II

Jazz Age cufflinks with finely detailed centers of "fireworks" radiating outward toward white gold borders decorated with Art Deco motifs.  A small diamond set on one side adds a touch of sparkle.  Created by Jacob Hookaylo in 14kt gold,  circa 1925.

The craftsmanship with which these cufflinks were created can be seen on the backs.  Note the polished, smooth finish (please excuse the reflections from the camera) and crisp edges.  Elegant winged bridges and sturdy brackets secure these cufflinks on the cuff.  The winged bridges were a signature of Jacob Hookaylo and help us identify the cufflinks from his workshop.

Jacob Hookaylo, was an imaginative jeweler and goldsmith who immigrated
to the United States in the early 1900s.  During the 1920s and 1930s the Hookaylo workshop created beautifully designed, finely engraved cufflinks that are miniature works of Art Deco art.
