Elegant Diamond Cufflinks
Art Deco Fireworks |
| Art Deco cufflinks with golden
"fireworks" exploding within geometric, white gold
borders. A shimmering diamond set on one side adds an
elegant sparkle. These richly detailed cufflinks were
created by Jacob Hookaylo in 14kt gold circa 1925.
![]() The craftsmanship with which the Hookaylo workshop worked is evident on both the fronts and the backs of the cufflinks they created. On the backs of these cufflinks note the smooth, polished surfaces and crisp, sharp edges. The ends of the cufflinks are secured with dramatic winged bridges and secure cap brackets. The winged bridges were a signature of Jacob Hookaylo and help to identify the cufflinks from his workshop. One side of the bridges is stamped "14K" for the purity of the gold.

Jacob Hookaylo was a wonderfully imaginative jeweler/goldsmith who immigrated to the United States in the early 1900s. During the 1920s and 1930s, the Hookaylo workshop created cufflinks that were as beautifully designed as they were finely crafted. Hookaylo cufflinks are best viewed as miniature works of art from the Art Deco era.
