Antique Rose and White Gold Cufflinks

14kt rose and white gold antique cufflinks. (J5341)

Jazzy Elegance!

A jazzy pair of cufflinks from the Age of Jazz.  These elegantly designed,  well crafted cufflinks feature 14kt rose gold tops surrounded by white gold borders.  They are decorated with abstract floral designs and geometric motifs.  These jazzy cufflinks were created around 1920 by the jewelry firm Larter & Sons.

As with all fine jewels,  you should turn over a pair of cufflinks and examine them closely from the rear.  Here you can see the high polish and care with which the back of these cufflinks were finished  Also, note the sturdy cross bars and mounts that attach the links to the tops.  The maker's attention to detail can also be seen in the ornate scrolls that decorate the usually hidden cross bars.

The maker's mark for Larter & Sons is visible just to the right of the   "14K"  gold mark.  The mark is a sping-back shirt stud.

Larter & Sons was founded in 1865 and made distinctive cufflinks, dress sets and gentlemen's jewelry during the late Victorian era and first few decades of the last century.  The firm had offices in New York City and manufactured its jewelry across the Hudson in Newark, New Jersey.  It was known for elegant design,  innovation and craftsmanship.
