Elegantly Engraved Pearl BroochPearls and Enamel |
A small brooch with pearls set in square recesses between finely engraved panels of rippling waves framed in white enamel. This elegant jewel is a testament to the beauty of small things. Created by Riker Bros. in 14kt gold, circa 1910. The brooch is finely crafted with a sturdy pin stem and early safety clasp securing the jewel when worn. The upper reverse is stamped with the maker's mark of Riker Bros. (an "R" above a scimitar) and the lower reverse is marked "14K" for the purity of the gold. Riker Bros. was a maker of fine brooches, stickpins and other jewels from the mid 19th century to the mid 20th century. The firm was known for its enamel work and refined treatment of gold surfaces with engraving and chasing - both attributes seen in this brooch. Name: Pearls and Enamel |
