Victorian Star BroochWavy Starfish |
A wavy starfish (or is it a shimmering star) brooch set with forty-nine small pearls. Natural themes, small sea creatures and shimmering stars, were favored jewelry motifs among the late Victorians. This pearly denizen of tidal pools and rocky crevices is the perfect accoutrement for a walk along the sea shore. Crafted in 14kt gold, circa 1900.
The reverse of the brooch is as finely crafted as the front with a sturdy pin stem and "C" clasp to help secure the brooch when worn. Above the pin stem a hinged bale allows the jewel to be worn as a pendant. Name: Wavy Starfish |
