Art Deco Jade Stickpin

Hans Brassler jade stickpin. (J9191)

Brassler Jade

Dramatic Art Nouveau curves and classical laurel wreath borders frame a luminous coffin-shaped jade.  A beautifully crafted stickpin created by Hans Brassler in 14kt gold, circa 1910.

Brassler was a wonderfully imaginative jeweler who created a small collection of  strikingly beautiful stickpins and other small jewels in the years around 1900.  He often wedded elements of Art Nouveau, Art Deco and classical design to create exquisite miniature works of art.

This stickpin is finely crafted with a sturdy gold pin stem to secure the jewel on a lapel or scarf.  The maker's mark of Hans Brassler's workshop, a double oval enclosing "14" followed by a "B", is stamped on the lower reverse behind the pin stem (see photo below).

Cost:  $685

Measurements:  This 14kt gold stickpin is 2 5/8" long and the top measures 11/16" by  7/16".  It weighs 2.6 grams.
