Brassler Jade Stickpin

Hans Brassler jade and pearl stickpin. (J9414)

Jade and Pearl

A verdant jade cabochon plays beautifully with the bright white luminance of a small pearl.  The jade is set in a wreath of golden laurel leaves framed by dramatic volutes that rise like the wings of a fantastic creature.  Created by Hans Brassler in 14kt gold, circa 1910.

Brassler was a gifted jewelry designer and goldsmith who in the early 1900s created stickpins that can only be described as miniature works of art.  He found inspiration in nature, ancient cultures and his own fertile imagination to create striking jewels that often borrow motifs from the Art Nouveau, Beaux Arts and Art Deco styles.

This stickpin is finely crafted with a strong gold pin stem and sturdy frame to cradle the jade cabochon.  The maker's mark of The Brassler Company "(14B" in a double oval)  is stamped on the upper left of the reverse (see photo below).

Cost:  Although this elegant stickpin has sold,  you will find many more

Measurements:  This 14kt gold stickpin is 2 1/2" long and the top measures 11/16" tall by just over 1/2" wide.  It weighs 2.7 grams.
