Brassler Roses and Pearls BroochRoses and Citrine |

A bright, lemony yellow citrine set between
golden roses and four luminous pearls. In the early 1900s master
jeweler, Hans Brassler, created a series of gem-set brooches
featuring roses blooming atop radiating trellises accented with
small pearls. This brooch with its sunny citrine is a
sparkling, cheerful example. Created in 14kt gold,
circa 1910. The reverse of this brooch is as beautifully crafted as the front. Note the sturdiness and detail of the frame that protects the gemstones and assures the integrity of the design. A strong pin stem with an early safety clasp secures this brooch when worn on a lapel, blouse or hat. This jewel was designed and crafted to survive its next 100 years as ably as it has its first.
Hans Brassler was an
imaginative jeweler, designer and artist who in the early
1900s created a small collection of gem-set brooches with
roses gracing a trellises of knife-edge wires accented with
small pearls. Brassler's work is striking in its
originality and for his uncompromising commitment to fine
craftsmanship. The maker's mark of Hans Brassler - "14B"
inside a double oval - is stamped on the reverse beneath the
lower pearl.
