Egyptian Revival BroochPeacocks and Scarab |
|
Green-eyed peacocks vigilantly guard a golden scarab with outstretched wings. This late Victorian brooch is finely detailed with delicate wire work and tiny gold spheres. A beautiful example of the late Victorian fascination with the arts and artifacts of ancient Egypt. Created in 14kt gold circa 1900. This brooch is finely handcrafted with a sturdy pin stem
and early safety clasp securing the jewel when worn on a
lapel, hat or anywhere the wearer chooses. The top of
the clasp is stamped "14K" for the purity of the gold.
