Art Deco Engraved CufflinksRippling Waves |
Finely engraved centers reminiscent of
rippling waves (or is it a flock of birds flying across the sky)
framed by classic "box and cross" borders with milgrain
edges. An elegant example of Art Deco cufflinks created by
Strobell & Crane in 14kt gold circa 1925. These cufflinks are finely crafted with sturdy cross bars and strong four-footed brackets to secure the cufflinks on the cuff. The the linkage and backs have a sturdy, sculptural quality.
The cross bars are stamped with the maker's mark ("S14C") of Strobell & Crane, a maker of fine cufflinks and other jewels during the early decades of the last century. The firm was noted for the finely engraved designs which decorated the tops of its cufflinks.
