The late Victorians loved whimsical jewels with fantastic creatures. This Victorian stickpin features a wonderful winged sea serpent clutching a pearl.
The stickpin is beautifully crafted in 14kt gold and dates from around 1900. The serpent is animated with a fierce expression and many rich details. Truly a miniature work of art. You can see that the sea serpent is solidly cast, creating a jewel that will last for at least another hundred years. The back is marked "14K" and "L & A" in a series of links.
