The Gargoyle  A fierce chimera with the head of a lion, wings of a dragon and body of a serpent perches menacingly atop this finely crafted stickpin.  In his claws he greedily grasps a small pearl.  Created by Whiteside & Blank in 14kt gold circa 1900.  Cost:  $485

Hans Brassler amethyst and diamond scroll stickpin. (SP9633)



Amethyst and Scrolls  A rich amethyst set in a finely sculpted wreath of laurel leaves and curling scrolls.  Beneath the amethyst a small diamond sparkles.  This elegant jewel was created by Hans Brassler in 14kt gold, circa 1910.

Fox Terrier  An elegant Victorian stickpin with a reverse intaglio ("Essex crystal") of an alert fox terrier.  The finely sculpted intaglio beautifully captures the terrier's expression of focused determination.  Crafted in 14kt gold, circa 1880.  Cost:  $775

Amethyst and Diamond  A rich amethyst is set in a finely sculpted frame of laurel leaves and angular scrolls.  Above the scrolls a small diamond sparkles like a beacon at the top of the stickpin.  This elegant jewel was created by Hans Brassler in 14kt gold, circa 1910.  Cost: $545

Winged Lion  A lion-headed creature with the wings of an eagle and sinuous, twisting body of a serpent protectively curls around a small luminous pearl.  A chimera stickpin created by Alling & Co. in 14kt gold circa 1890. Cost: $385
